1. Similarity to Existing Names -identical or closely resembles a name already on the register.
2. Offensive Content -language or connotations considered offensive.
3. State Endorsement -implies government sponsorship without authority.
4. Restricted Terms -terms that mislead or imply a function not represented by the company.

• Phonetic: "Any Wear Limited" vs "Any Where Limited"
• Visual: "G00g1e Limited" vs "Google Limited"
• Numerals: "All 4 You Limited" vs "All For You Limited"

Under Section 30 of the Companies Act 2014, objections on similarity grounds can be raised within six months of incorporation.

• Articles: Adding "the" is not enough distinction.
• Generic terms: "Ventures", "Solutions", "Services", "International".
• Numbers: Both spelled-out and numeral forms are treated equally.
• Geographic names: "Ireland", "Dublin", "Irish" are typically disregarded.

• Educational: "University", "Institute of Technology"
• Professional: "Standard", "Architect"
• Domains: ".com", ".ie", ".eu"

If your name includes words like "Group", the CRO will require evidence that the company actually performs these functions. The use of "Eire" is not permitted.
